TRI-ACE Tires has introduced two new products to its racing tyre range: TRACK KING Slick Racing Tyres and RACETRACK R1 Semi-Slick Racing Tyres.
Both tyres are developed for performance driving on the circuit, but they are built for different purposes. TRACK KING is a dedicated slick racing tyre for dry-track competition, while RACETRACK R1 is a semi-slick designed for track days, Time Attack and club-level racing.
The two products give drivers a choice between a competition-focused slick and a more versatile semi-slick, depending on the car, circuit and type of event.
TRACK KING: Slick Racing Tyres for Dry-Track Competition
TRACK KING Slick Racing Tyres are designed specifically for dry racing conditions. The slick tread eliminates conventional grooves from the main contact area, allowing more rubber to remain in contact with the track surface.
For racing drivers, this design is focused on one key requirement: maximizing dry-track grip.
TRACK KING is available in four compound options: Super Soft, Soft, Medium and Hard. Each compound is intended for a different type of use.
Super Soft – Qualifying, Time Attack and sprint events
Soft – Time Attack, circuit racing and GT applications
Medium – Circuit racing, GT and endurance events
Hard – Endurance, longer-distance racing and high-temperature circuits
The different compounds allow teams to select the tyre according to track temperature, race format and expected running time. A driver looking for maximum grip over a short session can use a softer compound, while longer races and hotter conditions call for a harder option.
This makes TRACK KING a dedicated Slick Racing Tyre range rather than a single-compound solution.
RACETRACK R1: Semi-Slick Performance with a Distinctive Scimitar Pattern
The RACETRACK R1 Semi-Slick Racing Tyres take a different approach.
Instead of the completely slick tread used by TRACK KING, RACETRACK R1 features a distinctive scimitar-style directional semi-slick tread pattern. The design gives the tyre a recognizable appearance while maintaining a large contact area for performance driving.
Large tread blocks provide a substantial rubber-to-tarmac contact area, while the directional layout is designed to maintain stability through corners. The curved directional grooves and lateral sipes also help manage heat across the tread during repeated laps.
RACETRACK R1 features a reinforced sidewall to handle the high lateral loads generated during aggressive cornering. Its light-wet capability also gives drivers additional flexibility when track conditions are not completely dry.
With sizes available from 15-inch to 21-inch, RACETRACK R1 covers a broad range of performance cars, modified vehicles and track builds.
TRACK KING vs. RACETRACK R1
The difference between the two new racing tyres comes down to their intended use.
TRACK KING is a true slick racing tyre, developed for dry-track competition and available with four compound choices. It is aimed at drivers and teams looking for maximum dry grip and a tyre setup tailored to different racing conditions.
RACETRACK R1 is a semi-slick racing tyre, using its scimitar-style directional tread to combine a large contact area with greater flexibility for track days, Time Attack and club-level competition.
For a dedicated dry racing setup, TRACK KING provides the slick option. For drivers who spend more time at track days and want a semi-slick that can handle a wider range of conditions, RACETRACK R1 offers a different solution.
With the launch of TRACK KING Slick Racing Tyres and RACETRACK R1 Semi-Slick Racing Tyres, TRI-ACE is adding two clearly differentiated products to its racing range-one built around the demands of dry-track competition, the other developed for drivers who want serious track performance with a more versatile semi-slick design.
